The complex taste of Öreg was inspired by the cycle of the seasons; elderflower and lavender evokes the scorching summers while pine and orange bring to mind the frosty winters.

Orris root, pepper and seabuckthorn keep the extremity of the drink in balance while the citrus flavours freshens it up. The change of the seasons is also shown in the special colour of the gin owing to the flower of Thai butterfly pea.
Strawberry
Old Tom Gin.
We have added loads of strawberries at distillation to the traditional recipe of Öreg Gin. As for the next step we soaked in more strawberries for a few weeks so that we got the full natural flavour of the fresh fruit. Finally, we balanced the acidity of the succulent fruit with some sugar.
Story.
I have spent my early life in the beautiful countryside Baja, Hungary but ended up in London working as a chef. Few years later I moved to Cornwall where I have founded my way back to nature thanks to Shaun from South Africa.
In the last decade our ways crossed several times and now I'm working in his distillery where we experiment everything by ourselves and during the years we have learned the secrets of making gin from our own experience. This year besides other awards we have also won the silver medal from IWSC.
I have always wanted to come up with my own product hence Öreg was born. This contains the wisdom of my grandpa and the diversity of the world. I have always adored trying with different tastes and their combination and I can exploit all of this in our small distillery in Penzance. Everything is handmade from distillation to bottling. We carefully select our natural ingredients keeping in mind that we give back to nature what we take from it.
